Operating a retail-bridal/ special occasion establishment can come with its own unique set of challenges due to the need to order inventory well in advance of the upcoming season. Recently, we had the opportunity to sit down and chat with Madison West, Proprietress of YES to the DRESS boutique, located in historic Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania. As the owner of a bridal and special occasion boutique, Ms. West understands quite well the importance of offering the latest designs and the need to be able to tap into working capital to ensure her boutique offers clients the latest styles and designs.
This couture like "sample boutique" partners with some of the most renowned designers and manufacturers in the industry to meet the discerning tastes of clients searching for bridal dresses and special occasions dresses. According to Ms. West, what sets her boutique apart from others is the fact that, "We work in a consultative manner. We are not a browsing boutique. We work by appointment only." She goes on to state that by working one-on-one, she and her staff are able to provide personal service to each client who comes through the door, whether it’s a bride or a prom girl.
In order to ensure the latest selections, the right inventory is a must-have. It was for this reason that Ms. West recently approached us about applying to receive additional working capital. While she had applied with banks in the past, Ms. West states that she found them to be quite impersonal.
Her experience with 48 Factoring was much different, however.
"48 Factoring is fantastic," she says. "I actually googled business funding for women business owners and your company came up as the first position on Google."
From there, the process for receiving the working capital that she needed was very efficient and personalized. After completing an online application, Ms. West states that the s48 Factor Staff reached out to her. "….the rapport with the staff has been very embracing and very personal and one-on-one," she adds. As a boutique owner specializing in providing personalized one-on-one service, this is an approach that Ms. West can certainly appreciate.
After receiving the funding, Ms. West was able to take care of incoming inventory ordered for her boutique.
